Creating and sharing Kami Assignments using sharing links

Create assignments and share them with your students, all within the Kami app.

Who can do this?

👤 This guide is for Teachers.

👤 This is a free feature; users on any Kami plan can do this.

Sharing links are useful for those using Kami without an integrated LMS, or teachers using link-based assignments in Schoology or Canvas.

What are Kami sharing links?

You don't need an integrated LMS (such as Google ClassroomCanvas, or Schoology) to create assignments with Kami. Any document in Kami can be sent to your students as an assignment via link sharing.

After you send the links to your students, they can share a link back with you so you can monitor their progress as they work, provide feedback, and grade it once they're finished.

How to share an assignment via link

1. Once you've finished perfecting your file and are ready to assign it, select the Share button from the top navigation bar to open the sharing settings.

2. The options in the sharing settings window will vary depending on where your file is currently saved. Find the steps specific to each save location below:

Under the Link Sharing section, select the Anyone with the link can annotate option.

Afterwards, click the Copy button to the right of the link in the Share document link section.

3. After copying the sharing link, you can email it to your students for them to use. Otherwise, this can be used to create link-based assignments in an LMS, such as Schoology or Canvas.

Upon receiving, students can share their individual assignments back to you for you to view, even if they have not yet started working on them. This will allow you to monitor their progress and grade their work after they've finished.
